Free Pick's 4/12/09
Mood:  a-ok

Last night I was 3-1 (.750 winning pct.) with my picks and if you bet $25.00 on each game you would have profited $65.00.

Today's Profitable Angles:

PICK #1:   Boston Celtics (+7) vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

I like this spread even though the Cav's are now 38-1 at home, the Celt's still lead the season series 2-1. I don't believe that the Celtics will win the game however I do believe that it will be a closer game than most people think.  The Celtics have won 9 of their last 10 and are currently riding a 6 games winning streak.

PICK #2:    Boston Red Sox (-165) vs. LA Angels

Look for the Red Sox to win their first series of the year with Josh Beckett (1-0, 1.29 ERA) on the mound facing off against Dustin Moseley (0-0, 4.50 ERA).  Look for the bats to stay hot for Boston from the game last night as they hit 3 HR's.

PICK #3:    Florida Marlins (+115) vs. Florida Marlins

With the young and fresh Josh Johnson (1-0, 0.00 ERA) taking the mound against veteran ace Johan Santana look for the youngster to perform at a high level.  In his first start this year Johnson gave up only 7 hits and 0 runs in 6 2/3 innings of play. He has several different pitches that he can turn to ranging from a slider and a change-up, to a mid-90's fastball. Not to mention his imposing size at 6-7 230lbs. Look for the Marlins to give Santana his first lost of the season at Dolphin stadium this afternoon.

PICK #4:  Philadelphia 76ers (+/-0) vs. Toronto Raptors

The 76ers head into this afternoons game leading the seasonal series against the Raptors 2-1 winning both at home and away.   The Raptors have dropped 4 out of their last 5 whereas the 76ers are coming off a 95-90 victory over the Detroit Pistons. The Raptors only show a 17-22 record at home this season and an under .500 record on the year. Look for the 76ers to go to Toronto and win.
